"I am a man in his early 50's and have always had the strong belief that mental health issues such as anxiety, depression etc. were primarily a weakness and you need to get over it. I was also of the belief that as a man I was not to show any emotions (Again a weakness) or to ask for help. Recent events made me reconsider this position and after taking some advise off friends and family, I sought help through therapy. The therapy sessions made me look at my personal beliefs, the way I view myself, others and the world in general in a new way. During the sessions I had to relive some of the hardest moments in my life and face situations which I was avoiding.
